MEDICAID TRANSPORT
EMERGENCY (DIAL 911)
- When needs are immediate
- Examples: Heart attack, stroke, serious injury from a car accident and life threatening situations
- No advance approval needed
- Cost of transportation is billed by the provider directly to Medicaid or other insurance
NON-EMERGENCY (812-885-2504)
- When needs are not immediate
- Examples: Dialysis, hospital admissions and hospital discharges
- Preauthorization may be required
- Cost of transportation is billed directly to insurance when the provider is pre-authorized
