About Shane

Shane is highly self-motivated, dedicated to professional development. He would like to
continue engaging in academic research throughout the residency program. During his time in
med school, he participated in SimWars, an emergency simulation-based competition wherein
teams of healthcare students are presented with a clinical scenario and provide patient care in
front of a live audience. Shane regularly practiced simulations as one of five students within a
team, and learned to effectively manage acute conditions including status epilepticus,
hypovolemic shock, anaphylaxis, severe DKA, and more.
