Good Samaritan Welcomes First Baby of 2025

Good Samaritan welcomed its first baby of 2025 on Thursday, January 2. Olivia Ellen Jones was the first baby to make her debut to the world at 5:02 p.m. on the Good Samaritan Obstetrics Unit.

Olivia weighed 6 pounds and 12 ounces and was 20.5 inches long. Her parents are Trent and Shayla Jones of Lawrenceville, Illinois. Olivia was delivered by Dustin Blackwell, DO.

This year, Good Samaritan partnered with the Knox County Chamber of Commerce to enhance its New Year Baby gift basket with donations from local businesses. The couple was presented with a large basket of baby essentials and gifts from the Good Samaritan gift shop, Little Hill Flower Farm, Lori Graham Travelmation, Blue Jean Solar, Procopio's Pizza & Pasta, and Daisy Do Write.
