Good Samaritan is offering a Women’s Wellness Fair this June. The event will take place on Tuesday, June 7 at Highland Woods Community Center in Vincennes from 7 to 10 a.m. and again from 4 to 6 p.m. (ET).
This year’s event will be similar to the last two years. “Through COVID we had made some changes to this event with adding additional hours in the morning, requiring registration and completing blood draw consents ahead of time,” stated Tiffany Conover, Director of Marketing at Good Samaritan. “This process has made attending the health fair more efficient and quicker for our attendees to get in and out. This was one good change from COVID that we will plan to make a permanent process for our future health fairs. We will again limit the number of attendees per hour as a safety measure, but we still expect to see more than 300 women throughout the day.”
Different department booths will be available such as: Rehabilitation Center, Trauma, Breast Care Center, Stroke Services, Center for Therapy and Sports Performance, Samaritan Center and more.
In order to participate in this year’s event, women must make an appointment online at gshvin.org/wellnessfair or by calling 812-885-3336. Registrations will be accepted until May 24. The free health screenings will include bone density, blood pressure, colorectal take-home kits, and a lab draw that will test blood sugar, cholesterol (LDL and HDL), and glomerular filtration rate (kidney function). Masking will be optional. Fasting for 10 to 12 hours before these screenings is recommended, but not required.
