Good Samaritan Foundation is honored to award an average of $30,000 annually in financial support to local scholars. With 8 scholarship funds available, the Foundation is able to provide much needed assistance to support graduating seniors, undergraduate or graduate students, medical students, and Good Samaritan employees as they work to attain their educational goals.

Scholarship Criteria and Eligibility
The BEACONS of Excellence Scholarship for High School Seniors
Awarded to one graduating high school senior from each Knox County high
school and one graduating high school senior from Lawrence County, Illinois.
Ross Darkis Memorial Scholarship for Occupational Therapy
Awarded to one student who is pursuing a degree in occupational therapy.
Chris & Laura Nardine Memorial Scholarship
Awarded to a student attending Vincennes University in a health care related
field of study.
Gloria Van Eaton Nursing & Allied Health Care Scholarship
Awarded to a student who will attend Vincennes University in a health care
related field of study.
Nursing and Allied Healthcare Scholarship
Awarded to a student who is pursuing a degree in nursing or another healthcare
related field of study.
Good Samaritan Physician Legacy Scholarship
Awarded to a student who is currently enrolled in an accredited graduate
school of medicine working toward an MD or DO degree.
The Matt Bowman Memorial Scholarship
Awarded to Good Samaritan Full-time or Part-time employees of any department
or discipline seeking assistance for health-related certifications, review
courses, conferences, or educational boot camp fees.
Good Samaritan Hospital Foundation Nursing Scholarship
Awarded to a nursing student to assist with successful completion of their
nursing curriculum. Applicants must be graduating in December 2023 or May 2024.
