Good Samaritan Donates $250,000 to YMCA of Vincennes

With a focus on community, relationships and wellness, Good Samaritan has pledged a $250,000 donation to the YMCA of Vincennes’ capital campaign. A check presentation was held on April 24 at the YMCA. The contribution will go toward the YMCA’s efforts to raise $2.5 million to renovate a third gym space into a multi-sports room that would include a golf simulator, pickleball court, volleyball court and a batting cage. The plan also includes renovation to the YMCA lobby and main entrance.

Good Samaritan President and CEO, Rob McLin, said the mission of Good Samaritan is to provide excellent healthcare by promoting wellness, education, and healing through trusting relationships. “Good Samaritan remains focused on community and is constantly seeking opportunities to invest in this community through building relationships that support our mission of wellness and overall health,” he added. “Wellness is a key component of our mission, and it does not solely focus on our patients. Wellness is also centered around every caregiver working at Good Samaritan.”

The hospital’s generous donation comes with a wellness component for Good Samaritan caregivers. These employees will now receive a 25% discount on YMCA memberships. The YMCA will also host a Good Samaritan Week during National Hospital Week May 12-18 for employees to try out the YMCA for free.

“We hope that our caregivers take advantage of the free week and the discounted membership at the YMCA to invest in their own health and wellness, while also supporting a valuable partner in our community,” stated McLin.
